We have been engaged by a reputable Building contractor who, due to a period of sustained growth, have a requirement for an additional Estimator to join their Glasgow-based team on a permanent basis. The business typically acts as Main Contractor to deliver a wide range of specialist contracting services. Applicants should have experience pricing M&E and/or housing maintenance works.

Daily duties include diligently maintaining good progress to meet tender deadlines by timeous issue of subcontractor and supplier enquiries and responses as listed below:

  • To carry out a high-level tender review of tender documentation and prepare a summary report on whether this is a viable project to bid for.
  • To compile a tender enquiry letter to subcontractors which must include all ITT, preamble, drawings, and specifications as detailed within the tender pack.
  • To ensure tendering contractors are made aware of programme durations.
  • To compile a risk register that reflects our bid strategy and price accordingly.
  • Estimator to carry out daily/weekly review on tender submissions to identify status and enter into negotiations to secure the project.
  • Ensure administration of databases are maintained.
  • Ensure the appropriate labour only/sub-contractors are selected for the tender process and review and agree with Operations Director.
  • Ensure that subcontractors provide adequate programmes to allow the PM to manage their works.
  • Provider analysis reports on subcontractors.
