Estimator – Civil Engineering Permanent Location: Glasgow Salary: £45,000-£55,000 DOE Ref: GR1474 Gibson Recruitment Limited Your New Role: National Civil Engineering Contractor with a growing team and enviable footprint of projects across the country have a requirement for an experienced ESTIMATOR to join their pre-construction team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a CIVILS ESTIMATOR to join an expanding Contractor as they extend their presence in the Scottish Construction Industry. Applications are encouraged from individuals who have a Civil Engineering qualification and have demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer prior to transitioning into an Estimating role. Responsibilities: · Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a range of civil engineering works. · Review and interpret tender documentation, specifications, and drawings. · Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and technical input. · Produce Bills of Quantities and take-offs from drawings. · Identify and assess risks associated with project tenders. · Support bid submissions and presentations to clients. · Work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure tender proposals are achievable and competitive. Candidate Requirements: · Experienced as an Estimator in civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction. · Good understanding of civil engineering methods, materials, and rates. · Proficient in the use of estimating software and Microsoft Excel. · Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. · Confident communicator who can work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. · Keen to grow within an ambitious business.
