Gibson Recruitment Ltd. is working on behalf of a regional Groundworks & Civil Engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager, following a period of expansion. Our client has a solid pipeline of projects and a growing team, and the successful Contracts Manager will have the responsibility of managing 5-6 sites at various stages of completion. This position will be based in the central belt and applicants should be able to demonstrate extensive relevant experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To deliver schemes of work on time and in line with all the required parameters
- To implement and comply with SHE policy and procedures and best practice
- To manage the projects’ finances (revenue, costs, and cash flow) and achieve planned gross margins
- To lead, manage and motivate the staff on each project to establish full commercial contribution to the organisation.
- To manage operational communications and relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers
- To establish and maintain the best relationship with the client, through and beyond construction, to satisfactory completion, and to deliver improved value to the client and company.
- To implement the project plan and ensure compliance with the projects’ accepted contractual terms and conditions
- Ensure that forward planning is completed ensuring there is no delay due to lead in of resource/materials
Key Criteria:
- Demonstrable experience as a Project Manager or Contracts Manager with another civil engineering or groundworks contractor.
- Commercially aware.
- A confident and articulate communicator.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS.
- First Aid at Work
- Proven experience of meeting deadlines and keeping costing guidelines.
- Applicants must reside in the central belt of Scotland to commute to projects.
