Based in Glasgow, this established and growing main contractor is seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join their commercial team. As a Bid Writer, you will play a central role in producing high-quality bid documents for construction projects. Working closely with the directors and commercial team, you will ensure that our submissions are persuasive, accurate, and aligned with client requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, a sound understanding of construction industry requirements, and experience developing strong, client-focused proposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, and format bid and tender documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with client specifications.
  • Collaborate with technical, commercial, and operational staff to translate complex information into persuasive, client-focused responses.
  • Assist in reviewing tender documents, identifying key requirements, and contributing to bid strategy.
  • Assist in providing estimates.
  • Ensure bid submissions are well-structured, consistent, and delivered on time.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to support information when required.
  • Contribute to lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement of bid processes.

Applicant Criteria:

  • Experience in bid writing or related roles within the construction sector.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive content.
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret tender documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with bid management software is desirable.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
