Based in London, the Senior Business Development Coordinator will be responsible for helping to drive London business development and visibility initiatives and priorities for various transactional practices including (but not limited to) Energy & Infrastructure, Private Equity and Finance. Support for other practices and lawyers will be assigned as needed.
You will prepare and coordinate the delivery of multiple business pitches, with the guidance and mentorship of a manager. In support of these efforts, on a daily basis you will update practice group descriptions, attorney biographies and lists of new client matter wins. In addition, you will support the manager in strategic business development workstreams including client teams, targeting initiatives and lateral partner integrations. You will learn about our Firm, how we go to market and the technology platforms that support our work. Additionally, you will support department initiatives and own projects in line with your strengths and passions. This role reports to the Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities
- Prepare pitches, RFPs (with RFP team) and other client facing materials including leading strategy sessions, internal debriefs and tracking outcomes.
- Assist with the drafting and maintaining of practice‑specific marketing materials and collateral including experience lists and the collection of relevant matters.
- Update all digital channels, as appropriate, with changes to practice and office descriptions, representative matter lists and attorney bios.
- Support key client targeting efforts and work with colleagues to ensure the identification, development, and growth of high‑value clients.
- Support client teaming efforts for selected clients relevant to assigned practices, helping to coordinate strategies and execute action items to develop relationships.
- Collaborate with the intelligence team to prepare research reports, supporting both individual pitch efforts and practice area or region strategic projects.
- Collaborate with the CRM team to ensure high quality client contact data is maintained.
- Contribute to the execution of seminars, events (with the events team), conference sponsorships and other targeted marketing activities, contributing strategically to invite lists and the business rationale behind such activities.
- Act as a lead on additional related projects within the Department or Firm as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with lawyers at varying levels including firm leadership.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong project management and time management skills.
- Experience of line managing junior team members.
- Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firms and the ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and many constituents.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Exceptional in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity and comfort with AI tools including ChatGPT, Gemini, Co‑Pilot and others.
- Outstanding problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work outside business hours and occasional travel as needed.
Experience
- University degree.
- 3+ years of experience in professional services, with transactional experience.
- Experience supporting business pitches or learning programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM systems preferred.
