We are seeking a skilled and motivated Handy person.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and experienced Handy person with a strong commitment to quality and efficiency. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role, in delivering repair and maintenance solutions for our facilities . Working in corporations with our onsite electrician.
Job Specification : Repairs and maintenance for group facilities and properties.
Reporting: Head Of manufacturing.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. General Repairs and Maintenance:
oPerform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, repairs, basic plumbing, minor building works , woodworking , landscaping , gardening.
2. Safety and Compliance:
oEnsure that all repairs and installations meet safety codes and regulations.
oAdhere to proper procedures and use personal protective equipment as needed.
3. Communication :
oCommunicate clearly with managers to understand their needs and provide recommendations.
oOffer professional and courteous service, addressing any questions or concerns.
4. Tools and Equipment Management:
oMaintain and manage hand and power tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
oOrder and restock supplies as needed.
oKeep a tidy work area
5. Documentation and Reporting:
oKeep records of completed work, including time spent and materials used.
oProvide estimates and invoices for services rendered.
6. Problem-Solving:
oDiagnose and troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently.
oDevelop and implement solutions to address unexpected challenges.
7. Physical Labour:
oPerform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, and climbing.
oWork in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
8. Time Management:
oPrioritise tasks and manage time effectively to complete projects within deadlines.
oSchedule and coordinate work with clients to minimise disruptions.
oRespond to emergency repair requests as needed, such as urgent plumbing leaks.
Driving:
Driving the company van when required- delivering goods to our customers and or collecting parts, or supplies.
Working Conditions:
This role primarily involves working within a shop floor environment,
Regular interaction with machinery and equipment, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
May involve occasional lifting of heavy objects.
Support continuous improvement activities across the business.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Comply with all Company policies, procedure, SOPs, and training requirements.
Comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and working practices.
