Pharmacy Dispenser Assistant

About Us

Gibbs and Gurnell Pharmacy is a well-established and trusted provider of healthcare services, proudly serving our community as the second largest pharmacy on the island. We support a wide patient base including care homes, blister pack (MDS) patients, and provide a range of private services such as vaccinations and health checks. We are expanding our team and seeking experienced Pharmacy Dispensers to deliver the high standards we are known for.

Experience and skilled employees will be enrolled onto the NVQ-3 Technician programme after 3-6 months

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Prepare, label, and manage multi-dose blister packs (MDS)
• Assist in the supply and delivery of medicines to local care homes
• Deliver excellent customer service and support patients with over-the-counter needs
• Assist in the delivery of private services (training provided)
• Maintain accurate records, handle stock, and keep the dispensary organized
• Follow all SOPs and uphold professional, legal, and ethical standards
• Support team operations during evenings and weekends

Requirements

• Pharmacy experience – essential
• Pharmacy Technician qualification – highly desirable
• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services – preferred
• Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 5 (C) or above, including English and Maths
• Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented with a professional and caring attitude
