We are seeking a highly reliable, detail-driven, and compliance-focused Logistics Coordinator to support our international trade operations. The company specialises in distribution, importing goods into the UK and exporting globally. This role is critical from a compliance and risk management perspective. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring that all logistics and customs activities are conducted in full accordance with UK regulations and internal procedures. Any errors or omissions in this role may result in financial exposure, customs penalties, or delays in the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international shipments (import & export), including booking shipments (e.g. DHL and other carriers)
- Ensure full compliance with customs procedures, including Outward Processing (OP) authorisation requirements
- Review and verify incoming documentation with a high level of accuracy, identifying any discrepancies or compliance risks
- Prepare commercial invoices and supporting export documentation in line with regulatory requirements
- Record keeping for import and export documentation
- Arrange and process Certificates of Origin via Chambers of Commerce
- Ensure all customs and shipping documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Proactively identify and escape any compliance risks, irregularities, or documentation gaps
- Maintain accurate and traceable records in line with audit and regulatory requirements
- Support internal audits and compliance checks where required
- Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of product records under UK CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) requirements from 2027
- Liaise with internal teams, freight forwarders, customs agents, and external stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient operations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in international logistics or freight forwarding
- Good understanding of import/export processes and customs procedures
- Experience with shipment booking systems (e.g. DHL or similar)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with high levels of accuracy
- High level of reliability, integrity, and accountability
- Ability to understand the compliance impact of daily operational activities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge or experience with Outward Processing (OP) or other customs special procedures
- Familiarity with Certificates of Origin and Chamber of Commerce processes
- Understanding of UK CBAM requirements
- Experience in a distribution or trading environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
