Join to apply for the Social Media Storyteller role at Giant Ventures. We are searching for our next marketing hire â a leader in socialâfirst video content to distribute our content to the world and build a significant audience on socials.
About Giant Ventures: Giant is a multiâstage venture capital firm backing purposeâdriven technology founders solving the world's most critical challenges. At Giant, we believe brand and creativity is fundamental to the success of our business and our portfolio companies. Based in London, with colleagues in the US and Denmark, we invest in technology businesses from the earliest stages to Series B and beyond across Europe and the US. We are a team of former founders and operators, supported by an advisory board of global leaders. Giant is on track to invest $1B into purposeâdriven technology this decade.
Role Overview: Over the past few years, weâve built a brand around our unique story, from social media to the Giant Ideas podcast. We are now looking for a Social Media Storyteller to support the Head of Marketing to nail distribution: telling that story, pushing our reach to new heights, and growing our reach â with a focus on social media and video editing. The core of the role is building a significant audience on socials through handsâon work creating video clips, visuals and more. The goal will be to create a content machine across social channels, using the library of longâform interview content we create weekly. You will spend most of your time on social growth â including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X â with any remaining time spent supporting the team on other areas of marketing. You will report to the Head of Marketing.
In the First Six Months You Will:
- Video edit at speed: Plan, create, and schedule content that heroes our portfolio, team, and insights. Expand Giant's audience across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube and TikTok.
- Monitor and find trends on X, LinkedIn, newsletters, podcasts, etc to find and report on the angles that people care about.
- Design & execute a strategic social plan to amplify our content further; analyse & optimise: Monitor and analyse performance metrics, adapting the strategy for reach and engagement.
- Experiment: Try new formats and collaborations to drive organic growth.
- Support on adâhoc marketing tasks: from writing newsletters to updating the website and supporting occasional events.
About You: This role will suit someone who lives and breathes social content, can videoâedit with their eyes closed, and who has ambition to grow their marketing experience beyond social. You will know that fast execution beats strategy, have a deep respect for brand, and sweat the small stuff. You will understand online culture and know the tech world (even if youâve never worked in it). You will have a testâandâlearn mindset, will be able to spin up a reel in 10 minutes, and you will work fast. As a small team, we expect you to both lead the growth of our social presence and take guidance and direction. We are a team where everyone mucks in, and where the mission is bigger than anyone's one role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Evidence of exceptional video editing skills, especially shortâform content.
- A portfolio of social campaigns you ran from start to finish.
- Strong organisational skills and experience managing content calendars.
- Clear interest and opinions on what works online.
- A strong understanding of how to balance brand nuance with virality.
Weâre Looking For:
- A handsâon executor and builder: you get things done without overthinking and take pride in seeing projects through with high attention to detail.
- Driven by speed and improvement, quick to learn whatâs working and whatâs not, iterating and changing direction based on the latest trends and algorithm changes.
- You live online and are likely an expert in social growth but also want to get involved in wider marketing initiatives and expand into a marketing leadership role.
- You are hardâworking and detailâoriented, ensuring all output reflects Giant's brand voice and standards.
- You are kind, collaborative, and a team player. At Giant, we thrive on teamwork with no room for ego.
What You Can Expect From Us:
- Competitive compensation.
- Great benefits including a wellbeing contribution, free lunch on Tuesdays, excellent private dental and health insurance, and annual team offâsites.
- Exposure to the venture capital and startup ecosystem and leaders within it; you will meet iconic founders, scientists and prime ministers whoâve shaped history.
- Huge growth opportunities to become a marketing leader in the field.
- Ownership and responsibility in shaping Giant's voice and brand.
- Opportunity to learn from deals, founders and portfolio activity.
- A missionâdriven, ambitious, and collaborative team culture.
