Are you an experienced criminal disclosure professional who takes pride in getting the details right and ensuring compliance at every stage of the process? At Giant Group we are looking for a knowledgeable and detail driven Criminal Disclosure Specialist to play a vital role in safeguarding compliance and supporting our clients with confidence and integrity.

About us

We believe in a world where businesses can engage and manage global talent without any barriers. Established in 1992, Giant Group is a workforce management platform and solutions provider. Our purpose is to support businesses with compliant and efficient solutions ranging from applicant tracking, supply chain management and screening, through to time management, billing and payroll, and a range of employment options, all on a global basis.

About the role

As the Criminal Disclosure Specialist, you will have an impact on managing our criminal disclosure process end to end, ensuring a smooth process for candidates whilst ensuring compliance with the relevant legislative requirements. Therefore, you will be working day to day to ensure that our disclosure applications are submitted correctly; responding to any queries from the issuing authorities; and participating in period audits to ensure regulatory compliance. The desired outcome of this will be to ensure that Giant Screening remains compliant with the issuing authorities' requirements and that disclosure applications are processed within a timely fashion.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Act as a lead countersignatory and subject matter expert for UK criminal record compliance, providing authoritative guidance across DBS, AccessNI, and Disclosure Scotland processes.
  • Liaise directly with DBS, AccessNI, and Disclosure Scotland to respond to queries, manage escalations, and resolve complex or non-standard cases.
  • Engage directly with clients where required to provide eligibility guidance, clarify disclosure requirements, and resolve complex DBS-related issues.
  • Monitor criminal record applications end to end, ensuring progress is tracked and service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and procedural changes impacting the UK criminal disclosure framework, ensuring these are reflected in operational processes and client guidance.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the criminal disclosure offering, ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and best practice are maintained at all times.

About you

Ideally, you would have at least two years of experience working with criminal disclosure applications and a sound understanding of the legislation underpinning the process. You can only excel in this role with excellent written and verbal communication skills, creative problem-solving skills and an ability to view issues from the client’s perspective. You have previously worked with criminal disclosure processing and understand the processing requirements of the Disclosure and Barring Service, Access NI and Disclosure Scotland. You also understand the regulatory requirements for determining whether a position is eligible for certain levels of disclosure and can work independently in monitoring and reporting on applications in line with the SLA.
