A well-established engineering and fabrication company in York is seeking a Fabricator with basic MIG welding experience to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role working with a wide range of mild steel components, supporting the manufacture of RSJs, doors, canopies, and structural products.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work across fabrication processes including operating press and laser machinery, assembling steel components, and carrying out light MIG welding. This is a physically active role requiring good attention to detail, safe working practices, and the ability to work with varying steel thicknesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate steel components to engineering specifications
- Operate press machines and laser cutting equipment
- Carry out basic MIG welding on mild steel
- Work with steel thicknesses ranging from 1.2mm to 20mm
- Assist in the manufacture of RSJs, doors, canopies, and structural assemblies
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Support production teams with general fabrication duties
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in fabrication or metalworking
- Basic MIG welding skills
- Ability to read and follow instructions and engineering information
- Competent using hand tools and workshop equipment
