The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 Β£ per year.

An opportunity has arisen within the Transmissions & Mechanical Parts Centre of Excellence for a Quality Control Engineer to support Production in meeting Quality Control, Quality System and Regulatory requirements within a gear shop / mechanical parts environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Review customer and regulatory requirements and ensure compliance across the business
  • Prepare and deliver quality training to meet regulatory, customer and company standards
  • Train and qualify Gear Inspectors, including eyesight tests and re-validations
  • Provide day-to-day inspection support for the Gear Shop
  • Review/approve product qualification documentation (e.g. FAIR / First Article Inspection Reports)
  • Support the concession process (Civil - electronic and Military)
  • Prepare, review and approve quality procedures on behalf of the Quality Manager
  • Liaise between operations and customers to resolve quality issues quickly
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints (Civil & Military) relating to gears
  • Track progress, report status and drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain/review QC KPIs with the QC Manager and deputise at key meetings as required

Skills & experience

  • HNC or equivalent (Quality Engineering desirable)
  • Experience with quality systems/procedures in aerospace
  • Methodical, high-integrity approach; customer-focused team player
  • Strong communication and influencing skills

Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Yeovil (100% on-site)
