PLANT FITTER Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum Hours: 40 hours per week We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Fitter to join an established and busy team. This is a varied role working across a fleet of heavy plant, agricultural machinery and associated equipment, with responsibility for keeping machinery maintained, serviced and ready for hire. The Role Maintain a fleet of screeners and crushers, including carrying out screen changes and preparing machines for hire. Induct customers on machinery and ensure they are familiar with the correct operation of equipment when required. Service and maintain a fleet of 3-20 tonne excavators in line with manufacturers' recommendations. Service and maintain a range of agricultural machinery and trailed appliances. Attend machinery breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding and repairs. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults. Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance and pre-hire inspections. Monitor parts stock and advise the manager when replacement parts are required. Ensure the depot workshop is kept clean, tidy and compliant with all relevant health and safety legislation. Support the wider team with additional tasks as required.About You We are looking for someone with strong practical experience in plant and machinery maintenance who is confident working independently and diagnosing faults across a range of equipment. You will ideally have: Strong experience in plant and machinery diagnostics and repairs. Good knowledge of vehicle electrics/electronics and hydraulics. Experience working with excavators and other heavy plant machinery. Experience with screeners and crushers would be advantageous. Agricultural machinery experience would be beneficial. Welding and fabrication skills would be an advantage. The ability to maintain accurate maintenance and pre-hire records. Good communication skills and confidence dealing with customers. A flexible approach to overtime and allocated tasks. The ability and willingness to learn new products and understand different types of machinery. A strong commitment to health and safety and following correct processes. The ability to adapt to different working environments and situations.What's on Offer Salary up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. 40-hour working week.
