An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager - Food Safety to join a well-established, global food manufacturing site based in Liverpool. This role is pivotal in leading food safety and quality standards across the site, acting as the senior authority on all food safety matters while driving continuous improvement and compliance.
You will be a visible leader, embedding a strong food safety culture, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and ensuring robust governance aligned with both internal and external regulatory requirements.
The Role
- Act as the senior lead and face of food safety and quality across the site
- Provide leadership for food safety governance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct self-inspections and internal audits to ensure standards are met and sustained
- Build strong internal and external relationships to challenge, support, and drive food safety excellence
- Identify and close gaps in processes, products, or standards that may impact quality or compliance
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant working environment is consistently maintained
- Evaluate products from a food safety perspective during new product development and change management
- Support and lead responses to external audits, regulatory inspections, and customer requirements
- Champion HACCP, allergen management, and quality systems across the operation
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a Quality Manager / Senior Quality role within food manufacturing
- Strong experience leading external audits (e.g. FSSC 22000, ISO, BRC, FDA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable leadership capability with excellent communication skills
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience
- HACCP Level 4 qualification (essential)

- Extensive background in Quality Management and Food Safety systems
- Confident, credible communicator able to influence at all levels
- PCQI certification preferred
