Utilities Operative

Gi group are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Utilities Operative to join our team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation across the site, helping to ensure that all facilities and hygiene stations are kept clean, stocked and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and organising coats/PPE ready for employees.
  • Packing and preparing gloves for use across the site.
  • Cleaning production and communal floors to the required hygiene standards.
  • Cleaning and maintaining toilets and washroom facilities.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the staff canteen and communal areas.
  • Regularly checking hand-washing stations throughout the site.
  • Refilling hand soap, hand sanitiser and other hygiene supplies when required.
  • Ensuring hygiene and cleaning materials are available and correctly stocked.
  • Following all site hygiene, health & safety and food-safety procedures.
  • Reporting any maintenance, hygiene or stock issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Supporting additional cleaning and utilities duties when required.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday

6:00 to finish (breaks unpaid, flexibility needed as Overtime will be available on Saturdays)

Pay rate

  • Day Shift: Basic Pay £13.16 per hour, Overtime Pay paid at Time & 1/2 (£ 19.74 per hour)
  • Overtime Premium after 40 Hours

Requirements

Candidates must

  • Have their own reliable transport to travel to and from the site.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English, as candidates will be required to complete and pass an English assessment as part of the recruitment process.
  • Be comfortable working in a busy working environment.
  • Have good attention to detail and take pride in maintaining high hygiene standards.
  • Be reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
  • Be comfortable carrying out physical duties and remaining active throughout the shift.

Previous cleaning, hygiene, food-production or utilities experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training will be provided.
