With an established presence across the United States and continued expansion throughout the UK, our client's new workshop at London Gatwick presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technician to join their team to help shape the future growth of the company over the coming years. This is a brand-new workshop, and you will play a key role in developing the Gatwick site into a critical part of the company's expansion journey. With extensive training provided and clear future progression opportunities, this role will suit someone with relevant experience and a strong desire to further develop their knowledge within airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
The position will be workshop and airside-based, with occasional travel required to support other local airport sites. Company vehicles will be provided while on site. As this role involves working airside, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain an airside pass.
Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off rolling rota
Hours: 12-hour shifts
This role is ideal for a forward-thinking, motivated individual who is open to development into a management role within the next 5 years. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a new base facility with immediate growth potential, working across a wide range of GSE including Electric Belt Tugs (EBTs), de-icers, and pushback vehicles.
Requirements
- Long-term experience working with:
- Ground Support Equipment (GSE) - airport equipment such as pushbacks, de-icers, baggage tugs
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) - forklifts, pallet trucks, and similar vehicles
- Plant equipment or HGVs
Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive maintenance of equipment in both workshop and airside environments
- Interacting with customers at all levels, from operators to site managers
- Accepting deliveries to site, including vehicles, parts, and equipment
- Facilitating statutory inspections and managing subcontractor site visits
