About the RoleWe are looking for a Surface Mount Technician to join our client in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. This role involves setting up and operating SMT equipment, ensuring accurate component placement, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the assembly process.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate SMT machines
Load components and verify correct placement using AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on SMT equipment
Inspect assembled PCBs for quality and accuracy
Work from technical drawings and work instructions
Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve issues
Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles
Requirements
Knowledge of SMT equipment operation and maintenance
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with IPC standards and AOI processes is a plus
