As a Supplier Quality & Development Engineer, you will be the go-to expert in Supplier Quality Management, overseeing and enhancing all aspects of supplier quality performance activities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Defining and tracking the correct Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure industry-leading quality performance from the supply base.
- Developing the supply base to ensure they meet requirements across key quality areas such as delivered quality, on-time delivery performance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with suppliers to form mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Assessing, measuring, and developing suppliers via on-site Quality, Cost, Delivery Development, Management (QCDM).
- Implementing Lean, Best in Quality, Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies.
- Conducting supplier audits (both remote and on-site) to implement lean activities.
- Participating in Bill of Materials (BoM)-wide Value Add/Value Engineering activities.
- Reviewing supplier capacity in readiness for planned production run rates using standard Overall Effectiveness & Run at Rate activities.
- Ensuring process control standards are in place and monitored, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Monitoring suppliers' adherence to Engineering Change Notification (ECN) processes.
- Reviewing, approving, and validating 8D permanent corrective action plans.
- Taking ownership of the Supplier Quality non-conformance database.
- Operating as part of the wider supply chain team to identify and implement best practices in pursuit of business objectives.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years' experience in Supplier Quality Assurance/Supplier Development in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable experience of managing Supplier Quality/Development with automotive tier 2 suppliers.
- Good understanding and experience of Lean Manufacturing methodology.
- ISO 9001/IATF16949 Auditor Qualification.
- Knowledge of capacity analysis.
- Comfortable with overseas travel to Asia.
