Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - 06:00 to 15:00

Gi Group are looking for a transport operator to manage the transport and warehouse operations at the Stowmarket site in line with daily requirements, ensuring the customer’s needs are met efficiently and effectively while maintaining full compliance with all health and safety processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities as a transport operator:
- Ensure all client’s processes and procedures are adhered to across all operational activities.
- Take responsibility for afternoon transport planning, including:
- Planning vehicle utilisation effectively
- Dispatching and debriefing drivers in line with company policy
- Ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed and correctly filed
- Maintaining depot compliance on the Tacho management system and ensuring all infringements are reviewed and signed off promptly
- Investigating and resolving any missing mileage
- Managing vehicle breakdowns and defects promptly
- Providing a clear, accurate handover at the end of the shift
- Carry out a full yard and deck walk-around at the start and end of each shift, checking the system and taking any necessary actions.
- Manage fleet compliance, including booking services and MOTs, updating records and maintaining online tracking tools.
- Arrange agency driver cover.
