GI Group are working with an exciting client based in Southampton who is looking for a Tool Maintenance Trainee Technician on a temp to perm basis.

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-13:00

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in engineering/maintenance. We're happy to consider candidates from a warehouse or production background, especially if you're hands-on, reliable and keen to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out basic checks on tools, jigs and fixtures to spot damage or wear
  • Assist with simple repairs and maintenance (cleaning, changing parts, tightening/adjusting)
  • Support the team during breakdowns by helping identify issues and getting equipment back up and running
  • Keep the work area tidy and follow site safety procedures
  • Help with stock/spare parts checks and basic paperwork/log sheets

What We're Looking For:

  • Background in warehouse, production, manufacturing or assembly (or similar)
  • Practical mindset and confidence using basic hand tools (training provided)
  • Willingness to learn and take instruction
  • Good attendance, punctuality and attention to detail
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude
