Positions available: 2 x Production Operator, 1 x Production Operator (FLT Licence required – approx. 70% FLT / 30% production duties)

Location: Telford

Hours: Monday to Friday – 3 rotating shifts (must be fully flexible to rotate)

Pay: £13.71 per hour + £50 bonus for night shifts (per week)

Job Purpose

To support the safe and efficient operation of a galvanising production line, ensuring product quality, throughput and housekeeping standards are met. The role involves manual handling, operating production equipment and working to process/quality requirements within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities (Production Operator)

  • Work as part of the galvanising production team across the full process (loading/unloading, hanging/racking, dipping support, finishing/inspection, packing)
  • Operate production equipment and tools safely and in line with SOPs and training
  • Carry out visual quality checks on galvanised components (coating coverage, defects, damage) and report non‑conformances
  • Follow job cards, production schedules and work instructions to meet output targets
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas (5S/housekeeping), including correct waste disposal
  • Support basic routine checks and report faults/breakdowns to supervision/maintenance
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements, including PPE, COSHH awareness and safe manual handling

Additional Responsibilities (Production Operator with FLT Licence)

  • Use the FLT to move materials, stillages/racks and finished goods between production areas and storage/despatch
  • Load/unload vehicles where required and complete relevant checks/paperwork
  • Maintain safe FLT operation standards (daily checks, defect reporting, safe stacking and movement)
  • Expected split: approx. 70% FLT / 30% production work (may vary depending on workload)

Shift Pattern

3 rotating shifts, Monday to Friday – candidates must be able to rotate across all shifts: 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am. Night shift attracts £50 bonus (per week).

Skills & Experience

Essential (both roles)

  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment (heavy/industrial preferred)
  • Strong Health & Safety mindset and ability to follow procedures
  • Comfortable with manual tasks, standing for long periods, and working in a physically demanding environment
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
  • Flexible to rotate across 3 shifts

Essential (FLT role only)

  • Valid FLT Counterbalance licence
  • Confident and safe FLT operator with recent experience

Desirable

  • Experience within galvanising, metal processing, coatings or similar heavy industry
  • Understanding of quality inspection standards and production documentation

Working Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Industrial manufacturing environment with heat, noise, fumes and PPE requirements
  • Manual handling and repetitive tasks
  • Safety boots, hi‑vis, gloves, eye/face protection and other PPE as required
