Our client is looking for a Materials Handler to support the efficient operation of the Machining area at their site. This role is central to keeping production moving, ensuring materials, tools, and supplies are available when and where they're needed, reducing downtime and helping maximise productivity across the shop floor. You'll also play a key part in maintaining and improving 5S standards.
Location: Ruislip, London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities for Materials Handler:
- Deliver raw materials, blanks, and semi-finished parts to machining centres in line with the schedule.
- Remove finished and WIP parts and deliver them to the next operation, inspection, or storage area.
- Track and manage material flow to prevent bottlenecks or shortages.
- Replenish consumables (e.g., cutting fluids, sandpaper, gloves, inserts, rags, etc.).
- Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked work areas for machinists.
- Ensure shadow boards, storage racks, and tool carts are correctly organised.
- Remove debris, empty chip bins, and keep aisles clear of obstructions.
- Provide cover across Warehouse and Yard roles when required (including loading/unloading delivery trucks and walking to Unit 7 and Unit 5 to support site operations as needed).
- Assist with scheduled stocktakes throughout the year, supporting counting and recording across all Logistics areas.
