An established engineering and production business is seeking a CNC Turning Machine Operator to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC lathes. This is a hands-on, precision-focused role requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up CNC turning machines, interpreting engineering drawings, and producing high-quality components to tight tolerances. You will work across various stages of the machining process, ensuring all work meets technical specifications and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC turning machines (lathes), including installing tools, fixtures, and materials
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Operate CNC machines to manufacture components within tolerance limits
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as required
- Carry out routine inspections using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Ensure all finished parts meet quality and accuracy standards
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major faults
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
- Follow all health & safety procedures and company operating standards
Essential Skills & Experience
