Our market leading aerospace client is seeking experienced Engineering Work Package Managers to join integrated engineering teams delivering complex aerospace systems. You’ll lead a cross-functional engineering team, owning delivery of a compliant solution that meets customer, contractual, legal and internal requirements—balancing performance, cost and schedule.
You’ll define and manage the WBS, plan and schedule engineering activity, set and track KPIs, report progress, and drive delivery from design and development through to integration. You’ll work closely with suppliers and customers, manage resources, and identify/mitigate technical risks.
Key responsibilities:- Lead engineering delivery across multi-discipline teams (including across sites)
- Drive technical progress (“drumbeat”), tracking schedule, cost and risk
- Set clear engineering outcomes and ensure adherence to policies/procedures
- Maintain strong stakeholder communication (IPT, PM, functional leads)
- Ensure designs meet requirements and are fully documented
- Manage configuration and change control to maximise design reuse
- Strong work package planning and organisation skills
- Budget and schedule management experience
- Confident stakeholder communication (internal/external)
- Leadership and collaborative delivery style
- Understanding of the full engineering lifecycle and commercial awareness
- Willingness to travel (UK, potentially overseas)
- Sole UK nationality
- Current SC clearance required
