Role Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vertical Transportation Consultant to join a growing consultancy team. The role combines technical assessment, design, project management and client account management across a range of lift and escalator projects. You will work closely with major clients, contractors and internal teams to deliver high-quality consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys, evaluations and condition assessments of lift and escalator installations
  • Produce clear, accurate client reports with recommendations and technical solutions
  • Prepare technical and performance specifications for refurbishment and new installations
  • Analyse contractor proposals and compile tender evaluation reports
  • Manage projects from design through to installation and completion
  • Carry out quality audits on existing installations and produce maintenance reports
  • Undertake principal designer duties in line with relevant regulations
  • Manage client accounts, ensuring contractors deliver agreed services
  • Prepare fee proposals, handle invoicing and support credit control activities
  • Support business development by identifying and generating new clients and projects
  • Produce Excel-based reports, graphs and data analysis
  • Proofread technical documentation and ensure accuracy
  • Assist with debt chasing where required
  • Support completion of PQQs, tender documents and related submissions

Essential Criteria

  • Previous operational experience within the lift industry
  • BTEC HNC (Mechanical or Electrical) or higher engineering qualification
  • Experience managing major national client accounts or portfolios
  • Knowledge of MF/1 contract documentation
  • Strong background in vertical transportation (lifts/escalators)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in lift management and contractor oversight
  • Commercial awareness, including sales or client-facing experience
  • Health & Safety qualification (minimum EOR202 - Safe Working on Lifts)
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality client reports

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience conducting traffic analysis
  • Qualified and experienced Lift Engineer (NVQ4 Technician or equivalent)
