We are hiring full-time Meter Readers in your postcode.
Role: Meter Reader (gas and electricity only).
Responsibilities:
- Collect meter data from gas and electricity meters for commercial and residential properties.
- Update meter reads accurately throughout the day using a handheld device.
- Enter data on the handheld device at each location and provide excellent customer service.
- Carry out visual inspections of associated metering equipment.
- Complete charge point surveys.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- UK driving licence with no more than six points.
- Physically fit and able to bend, lift, kneel, climb stairs, crouch and walk an average of 3-5 miles a day.
- Willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Clear DBS check (no unspent convictions).
- Access to own vehicle.
- Basic business insurance.
Training:
A 1-week training program, both classroom-based and field-based with an experienced meter reader, will be provided.
Benefits and Pay:
- Hourly basic pay £13.45-14.80, weekly payment.
- Average annual earnings £27,000-31,000.
- Weekly hours 37.5, flexible start and finish times Monday-Friday between 8am-8pm.
- Weekly bonus scheme up to £250.
- Overtime rates at manager's discretion.
- Business expenses reimbursed at 30.05 pence per mile.
