GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery to support learners at our client based in Rotherham.

Use your Carpentry and Joinery expertise to shape the next generation of skilled professionals while contributing to the development of a Centre of Excellence. Whether you\'re transitioning from the industry or seeking a fresh challenge as an experienced tutor or assessor, this role offers the chance to make a difference. You will work as part of the curriculum team at the college, and you will work closely, and take direction from the Curriculum Team Leaders. In this role you will also work collectively with Technicians, Personal Development Coordinators and Work Placement Officers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver teaching and assessment up to Level 3 for carpentry and joinery programs in workshop and classroom settings, motivating and supporting students to reach their potential.
  • Provide engaging teaching and assessment in workshop and classroom settings using practical, theoretical, and digital methods.
  • Motivate and support learners, track progress, and set SMART goals to help them excel.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and management to achieve organisational goals.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Develop creative resources and track learner progress to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Candidates must be motivated team players with strong interpersonal skills, able to work together to meet organisational goals.
  • Hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification and assessors award or be willing to work towards.
  • Be able to bring the subject to life using practical, theoretical, and digital methods to equip learners with future-ready skills.
