GI Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions, and clinical research services to the life sciences industry for a Temporary HR Business Partner. This is a broad generalist role providing hands-on HR support during a period of growth and increased workload, working closely with senior HR colleagues and key business stakeholders in a large matrix organisation.

The Role

You'll support business leaders with delivery of people plans and provide day-to-day HR guidance across the employee lifecycle. The role will also involve supporting organisational change activity, core HR cycles, people analytics, and HR projects across the UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, including employee relations matters.
  • Support delivery of core HR processes: performance management, goal setting and reward cycles (within global frameworks).
  • Partner with senior HR colleagues on organisational change activity (e.g., restructures, redundancies, transfers), ensuring compliance with UK legislation.
  • Contribute to talent management activity including succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning and talent reviews.
  • Support HR projects such as engagement and wellbeing initiatives (business unit and/or UKI-wide).
  • Extract, review and analyse people data to identify trends and provide insight to HR and stakeholders.
  • Assist with implementation and communication of HR policies and processes.
  • Build strong relationships with HR specialist functions / shared services and internal stakeholders.
  • Support recruitment and selection activities where appropriate; assist with onboarding/orientation as needed.
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, escalating appropriately and working in conjunction with senior HRBPs.

About You

  • Around 2-3 years' HR experience (generalist or mix of generalist/specialist).
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • CIPD (or working towards) is desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Confident with MS Office and HRIS systems; comfortable producing reports and people insights.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence in a matrix environment.
  • Discreet, professional and comfortable handling confidential matters.
  • Highly organised; able to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.

Desirable (not essential): experience within a large matrix organisation and/or a data-driven life sciences / medical / pharma environment.

Working Pattern

This role can be fully remote. If you're based near the London office, a hybrid contract may be offered with infrequent attendance (approximately once every three weeks).
