Our client based in Basingstoke are currently looking for a Route Planner to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. A Route Planner (nights) plays a key role in optimising the travel or transportation process by determining the best, most efficient routes for vehicles, goods, or passengers. The purpose of the role is to ensure that the journey or delivery is as fast, cost-effective, and safe as possible, while minimising fuel consumption, time, and other operational costs.
Shift patterns and pay rates: £16.34 per hour, Sunday - Thursday 22:00 - 06:30

The role:
- Plan and optimise delivery routes using computer-based route planning systems.
- Ensure vehicle utilisation remains within KPI targets to meet agreed service levels.
- Produce analysis and recommendations to improve route plans and overall efficiency.
- Add late/overnight orders, ensuring the correct vehicle is assigned and drops are sequenced correctly.
- Coordinate daily van loading and support yard supervision to ensure vehicles are loaded safely, accurately and on time.
- Book customer deliveries and manage scheduling requirements.
- Pack, wrap and label pallets for courier dispatch when required.
- Provide clear written daily handovers to the dispatch and warehouse teams.
