A precision engineering and advanced manufacturing business is seeking an experienced, detail-focused CMM Programmer to join its Inspection team. The role will involve programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS to inspect complex, high-precision machined components, ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Program CMM machines using PC-DMIS
- Create and edit CMM inspection programmes
- Perform a variety of inspection techniques including first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately
- Use manual inspection equipment (micrometres, verniers, gauges, height gauges, etc.)
- Support root cause investigations and quality improvement activity
Experience Required:
- Proven experience programming and operating CMM machines
- Strong experience with PC-DMIS
- Excellent understanding of engineering drawings
- Experience inspecting high-precision machined components
- Excellent knowledge of inspection techniques and quality standards in manufacturing
- Confident using manual measurement equipment (micrometres, gauges, verniers, etc.)
