GI GROUP TELFORD is currently looking for Extrusion Machine OP / Assistant in Telford. Hortonwood area.

Company produces extruded bricks, paving accessories and special shapes, offering their customers the ideal combination of aesthetically appealing clay products.
There are H&S element requirements that all workers must comply with, particularly wearing RPE ( Respiratory Protective Equipment) when operating the machine. The environment can be loud and dusty due to clay and materials . All PPE will be provided.
The hours are:
6am to 2:30pm Mon to Thurs, 6am to 1PM Fri and 8:15am to 5pm Mon to Thurs, 6am to 12pm Sat. (Rotating between these day shifts.)
When sanded products are manufactured ,the extrusion machine requires two operators so the candidate will be required to work 6am to 5pm Mon to Thurs, 6am to 1pm Fri, 6am to 12pm Sat (depending on what products are being made on these days)
There is always plenty of opportunity for overtime in this role / it is always available.
-The candidate will ideally be someone with machine operating experience, great advantage if they have run a brick extrusion machine before.
-The candidate must have the communication skills required for this role and must be able to read and understand written specifications and procedures required to operate the machinery and to manufacture extruded products.
-The role involves a large element of hands-on tool work when manufacturing bricks, when changing products, dies, tables etc for the machine.
The pay is £12.21 p/h but there is also the plant bonus £90- £97 per week- depending on plant performance. (payable after passing first 3 months of probation)!
Ideal candidate will be someone with machine operating experience and someone who is hands on , likes to multitask and learn new things . Candidate will be given plenty of time to be trained for the role. This is a critical role in brick manufacturing process and we are seeking a candidate, that can be trusted and reliable to work with fellow extrusion machine operator.
