Overview
We're recruiting UK-based freelance Telephone Interpreters who are fluent in English + another language to provide remote telephone interpreting via a dedicated app. You'll support clients across a range of sectors including NHS and Public Sector services, helping customers with limited English proficiency access vital support.
What you'll do
- Provide real-time, two-way telephone interpreting (English ↔ second language)
- Answer interpreting requests via an app and interpret live conversations over audio calls
- Deliver accurate, complete interpretation while maintaining a professional tone
- Follow confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection expectations (role requires DBS)
What we're looking for
- Professional spoken interpreting experience (essential)
- Fluent English + a second language (native/near-native)
- Based in the UK and eligible to work self-employed/freelance
- Strong understanding of cultural context and terminology
- Community Interpreting Level 3+ desirable (not essential)
- Enhanced DBS with child barring check: must hold or be willing to obtain What's on offer
