Location: Derby

Salary: £13.00 - £17.00 per hour + Overtime

Hours: 42 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 07:30-16:30)

Overtime: Time and a half after 39 hours

We are currently recruiting for multiple Mechanical Fitters on behalf of a well-established engineering business operating within the rail sector. Due to continued growth and increased workload, our client is looking to expand their skilled team.

The Role

This is a hands-on position working on a range of mechanical systems and components, primarily within the rail industry. The role will involve both workshop and occasional site-based work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installation, assembly, and alignment of mechanical components and equipment
  • Maintenance and repair of railway-related systems, including damaged rolling stock
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective work
  • Working with pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, and rotating equipment
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Completing job reports and maintenance records
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations

Requirements

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Fitting
  • Experience within industrial, manufacturing environments
