Are you an experienced Production Operative looking for your next challenge in food manufacturing?

Gi Group is recruiting a Production Operative to join our client's busy food production site in Scunthorpe (DN15).

This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Operative who wants to make a direct impact on operations and product safety within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Rate of Pay for Production Operative: £13.33 per hour Production Operative
  • Working Hours: 3pm - 11pm, Monday to Thursday (Friday 13:30 - 20:30)

Key Responsibilities of a Production Operative

  • Operate production and packaging lines to meet daily output and quality targets.
  • Follow SOPs and food safety procedures to ensure products are produced to required standards.
  • Carry out basic machine set-up, start-up and shutdown checks, and report issues to supervisors.
  • Monitor product quality (weights, seals, labels, visual checks) and remove/reject non-conforming items.
  • Complete production paperwork, traceability records and downtime logs accurately.
  • Support changeovers by replenishing materials, clearing lines and assisting with safe restart checks to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area, including "clean as you go" standards and waste disposal.
  • Follow site rules on PPE, hygiene and contamination control, and escalate any safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist with manual handling tasks including packing, palletising and moving goods safely.

Requirements for the Production Operative Role

  • Previous experience in production/packing roles within food manufacturing or a similar environment.
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and working to SOPs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting targets/line speeds.
  • Able to travel to Scunthorpe (DN15) - own transport preferred.
  • Physically fit and able to work on your feet for full shifts; reliable attendance for afternoon/evening shifts is essential.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team under shift patterns.
