Location: Crick, Northampton

Hours: Monday to Sunday, 6am-6am or 6pm-6am (Shifts 4on-4off on rotation)

Rate: Day Shift: £14.50 / Night Shift: £16.49

Contract: Temp to Perm

Our client is a large retailer in the pet food industry and actively recruiting for an experienced Skilled Warehouse Operative who can ensure processes are followed within the production, products are produced in line with production plans, to the highest level of quality whilst keeping our colleagues safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following production directions given and ensuring that products are packed using the correct combination and volumes of WIP.
  • Ensuring that the highest level of quality is maintained throughout the production process, through compliance with relevant Food Safety legislation, standards and requirements.
  • Following the 'Clean As You Go' policy at all times, to ensure that the department is operating to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Ensuring that hourly production checks are carried out, and when any issues arise, that they are reported immediately to the Area Shift Leader or the Area Manager.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of machinery and equipment, through overall equipment effectiveness, where there is an issue escalate through the appropriate channels e.g. reporting breakdowns to the Engineering department.
  • Promote a people safe culture within the department, complying with policies and procedures, reporting any safety issues and plant damage through the appropriate procedures.
  • Minimising waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water whilst undertaking duties within the department.
  • Undertake training and assist with the training of other colleagues.

Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Warehouse experience in a skilled role preferable.
  • Experience in a similar role, working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work to targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good literacy and numeracy, able to understand, communicate and report clearly in English.
  • Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to shifts.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and standing for long periods.
