Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum, plus paid over-time

Location: ST14, Uttoxeter

Days: Mon - Friday, Days (06:00 - 14:00 or 07:00 - 15:00)

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy.

The Vacancy

As a Class 1 (HIAB) Driver, you will play a key role in safely delivering high-quality storage tanks and supplementary products to trade and domestic customers across the UK. Using a lorry mounted crane (HIAB), you'll ensure goods are transported, handled, and positioned with precision and care. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that combines driving expertise with crane operation and a strong focus on safety, compliance, and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operating a HIAB-equipped vehicle with crane and grab for loading and unloading goods.
  • Using crane or grab to handle heavy and bulky items on various job sites.
  • To assist or conduct tank positioning as required.
  • Responsible for all paperwork - vehicle info, delivery notes, returns notes, e-signatures etc and submitted upon return to head office.
  • Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of the HIAB crane.
  • Detailed checks to ensure load is secure prior to departure.
  • Deliver/Collect materials as per route planner/labour on sites as required.
  • Conduct daily HGV inspections to ensure vehicle is fit for purpose.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company Health & Safety Policy.
  • Ensure the correct PPE is worn at all times where applicable.
  • Ensure all digital tacho information is uploaded to your driver card.
  • Working collaboratively with the picking and loading team to get the vehicles loaded accurately, safely, with the correct orders and on time as per multi drop load list.

Qualifications & Licences:

  • Full UK HGV Class 1 Licence
  • Valid HIAB Crane Licence with Grab Attachment
  • Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Less than 6 points on licence (No DR or IN convictions)
