Join Gi Group supporting one of the UK's biggest supermarkets, as a Class 1 Early AM Driver.

This is a long‑term partnership opportunity in Bedford.

You will play a vital role in delivering chilled & frozen loads to supermarkets and petrol stations across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Chilled & frozen loads, mostly stored in cages but some pallets.
  • 1–3 store deliveries to supermarkets or petrol station stores.
  • Operate Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles (paid at Class 1 rate).
  • Conduct thorough vehicle checks and maintain accurate digital tachograph records.
  • Drive as per client professional standards, with coaching and training.
  • Manage Working Time Directive, Driving Hours rules, and regulations to meet compliance expectations and avoid infringement.
  • Act as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores.

Requirements

  • Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards).
  • Minimum 6 months Class 1 licence + 6 months Class 1 driving experience.
  • Previous experience in store deliveries preferred, but not essential.
  • Maximum 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR or DD offences).
  • Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills, attention to detail.

  • Days 06:00-14:00: STD £19.05ph & Overtime £26.81ph
  • Bacs 14:00-22:00: STD £20.45ph & Overtime £28.21ph
  • Nights 22:00-06:00: STD £22.41ph & Overtime £30.17ph

• Week 12 Rates

  • Days 06:00-14:00: STD £19.47ph & Overtime £27.40ph
  • Backs 14:00-22:00: STD £22.10ph & Overtime £30.03ph
  • Nights 22:00-06:00: STD £23.66ph & Overtime £31.59ph

• Week 27 Rates

  • Days 06:00-14:00: STD £20.57ph & Overtime £28.50ph
  • Backs 14:00-22:00: STD £24.81ph & Overtime £31.18ph
  • Nights 22:00-06:00: STD £24.81ph & Overtime £32.73ph
  • Automatic pay rises at 12 and 27 weeks.
