Join Gi Group supporting one of the UK's biggest supermarkets, as a Class 1 Early AM Driver.
This is a long‑term partnership opportunity in Bedford.
You will play a vital role in delivering chilled & frozen loads to supermarkets and petrol stations across the region.
Responsibilities
- Chilled & frozen loads, mostly stored in cages but some pallets.
- 1–3 store deliveries to supermarkets or petrol station stores.
- Operate Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles (paid at Class 1 rate).
- Conduct thorough vehicle checks and maintain accurate digital tachograph records.
- Drive as per client professional standards, with coaching and training.
- Manage Working Time Directive, Driving Hours rules, and regulations to meet compliance expectations and avoid infringement.
- Act as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores.
Requirements
- Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards).
- Minimum 6 months Class 1 licence + 6 months Class 1 driving experience.
- Previous experience in store deliveries preferred, but not essential.
- Maximum 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR or DD offences).
- Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills, attention to detail.

- Bacs 14:00-22:00: STD £20.45ph & Overtime £28.21ph
- Nights 22:00-06:00: STD £22.41ph & Overtime £30.17ph
• Week 12 Rates
- Days 06:00-14:00: STD £19.47ph & Overtime £27.40ph
- Backs 14:00-22:00: STD £22.10ph & Overtime £30.03ph
- Nights 22:00-06:00: STD £23.66ph & Overtime £31.59ph
• Week 27 Rates
- Days 06:00-14:00: STD £20.57ph & Overtime £28.50ph
- Backs 14:00-22:00: STD £24.81ph & Overtime £31.18ph
