A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Shift Manager to join a fast‑paced food manufacturing operation in Bolton. This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a hands‑on environment and is passionate about safety, quality, people development, and continuous improvement.
We have two positions available, one to work PM shift 2pm-10pm, and the other to work NIGHT shift 10pm-6am, both Monday to Friday.
About the Role
You will lead and develop manufacturing teams across the shift, ensuring the shift runs safely, efficiently, and effectively. You will play a key role in driving performance, maintaining high standards, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Maintaining Food Safety & Quality standards, ensuring all products meet required specifications and documentation is completed accurately.
- Managing labour, materials, waste, and other controllable costs to meet budget targets.
- Leading, coaching, and developing Shift and Team Managers, supporting training, succession planning, and engagement across the shift.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance across all business pillars.
- Upholding high hygiene and GMP standards, ensuring the site is audit‑ready at all times.
- Monitoring and improving KPIs across efficiency, waste, and overall plant performance.
