Join Gi Group supporting one of the UK's biggest supermarkets, as a Class 1 Night Driver. This isn't just seasonal help; we are looking for professional drivers for a long-term partnership in Lutterworth. You will play a vital role in keeping the nation fed by delivering to stores and petrol stations across the region.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Delivering both chilled and ambient loads stored in cages or palletised 1-3 store deliveries, this can be ambient or chilled loads.
- Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
- Driving as per clients' professional standards which you will be coached and trained on.
- Managing your Working Time Directive and Driving Hours rules and Regulations to meet compliance expectations and avoid infringement.
- Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores.
Shifts:
- Daily and Weekly Bookings PM starts between 1800-2300.
- Minimum 1 weekend day availability is a must.
- Weekend only work available.
- Full time and part time opportunities.
Benefits & Pay Rates:
- Automatic pay rises at 12 and 27 weeks.
- Double pay on Bank Holidays (up to £56.88ph).
- Increased holiday entitlement once first 12 weeks is completed.
- Overtime after 45 hours, paid on a weekly basis.
- Paid Breaks from Day 1.
- Onsite Parking & Onsite subsidised Canteen.
Class 1 Driver Requirements:
- Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards).
- Minimum 12 months Class 1 licence + 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
- Previous experience in store deliveries would be preferred, but is not essential.
- Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR, DD, IN, offences).
- Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as attention to detail.
