- We're looking for a hands‑on
Maintenance Engineer for our client based in Holford, Birmingham. You'll take ownership of day‑to‑day preventative maintenance across plant machinery , ensuring equipment uptime, safety compliance, and effective control of spare parts and contractors.
The Role
- Completing reactive breakdown support and proactive maintenance planning
- Breakdown response and fault resolution
- Preventative maintenance on e‑fulfilment automation
- Preventative maintenance on other warehouse plant/machinery
- Spare parts inventory control & replenishment
- External contractor coordination & liaison
What you'll be doing (day‑to‑day)
- Plan and schedule preventative maintenance, primarily on e‑fulfilment automation systems
- Diagnose and resolve minor issues in real time to minimise downtime.
- Escalate more complex issues using manufacturer telephone guidance and support.
- Coordinate manufacturer call‑outs for major issues, providing clear written reports covering root cause, corrective action, and recommendations for future prevention.
- Document maintenance procedures for automated machinery.
- Manage spare parts: stock control, stock taking, and replenishment.
What we're looking for
- Strong maintenance background with diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- Able to plan effectively, prioritise, and work at pace under pressure.
- Comfortable managing a varied workload while meeting deadlines and productivity targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Broad understanding of engineering functions/procedures, balancing reactive and proactive maintenance.
- Engineering qualifications such as Level 3 or above and 18th Edition
