Gi Group are proud to be supporting McLaren with the recruitment of a Logistics/FLT Operative.

This job is temporary ongoing and is an immediate start. Hours are 5.30am - 2.15pm

As a Logistics/Warehouse Operative, you will be an integral part of our Logistics team, reporting to a Logistics Operations Team/Group Leader. You will play a vital role in supporting production through timely and accurate delivery of materials, maintaining world-class stock accuracy, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Whether loading and unloading trailers, picking and supplying parts to line, or investigating inventory discrepancies, your contribution will directly support the production of McLaren's high-performance sports cars. This is a fast-paced role requiring a keen eye for detail, systematic working, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

FLT experience is also desired but not essential.

Accountabilities include:

  • Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and others; report all incidents and near misses
  • Load and unload trailers and lifts using MHE in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Accurately receive and inspect incoming goods and parts, ensuring correct documentation is filed.
  • Use handheld Scanners and SAP to complete real-time inventory transactions for full traceability.
  • Promptly and accurately put away stock, handling all parts with care to avoid damage.
  • Maintain company equipment and report damages, malfunctions, or losses to line manager.
  • Escalate operational issues promptly in line with our escalation processes.
  • Pick and supply parts to the production line aligned to KPIs and production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date logistics documentation, tools, and records.
  • Apply and uphold 5S principles, including a "clean as you go" approach to all work areas.
  • Perform internal consolidation of parts to optimise warehouse space.
  • Report missing or damaged parts immediately to the line manager.
  • Follow standard operating processes and work instructions for all logistics activities.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for inventory inaccuracies.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate stock management, proper storage, and proactive stock level monitoring.
  • Liaise closely with Production, Quality, and Stores to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain full traceability of parts and related paperwork, including items returned to vendors (RTV).
  • Participate in policy deployment, KPI tracking, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the picking and delivery of materials and collect empty stillages for replenishment.
  • Respond to lineside shortages and queries quickly to support continuous production flow.
  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping across all logistics functions.
