We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our well-established client in Mansfield. In this key role, you will be responsible for the manufacture, repair and maintenance of production tooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, repair, and refurbish tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
  • Running diagnostics and fault find issues.
  • Modify existing tooling to improve performance.
  • Operate a range of manual and CNC machining equipment, including milling, turning, drilling, and grinding machines.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, CMM tools) to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised toolroom environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker or similar precision engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and toolroom practices.
  • Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Competence with manual machinery and ideally some CNC machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-sufficient approach—especially when working alone on night shifts.
