Are you an experienced manufacturing professional with strong FLT skills looking for a varied and hands-on role? We’re looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join a busy 24/7 processing plant. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with different types of machinery, can follow safety procedures, and is comfortable working a rotating shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times, following company procedures related to plant, equipment, processes, chemicals and occupational safety.
  • Correctly use all required PPE, safety equipment and workwear as a Multi Skilled Operative.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, applying 5S principles and supporting audits and action plans.
  • Operate a range of production plant and equipment including hot fusion, casting, crushing, grinding, drying, finishing, sizing and bagging machinery.
  • Operate a variety of mechanical handling equipment (subject to training/qualification) such as overhead cranes, backhoe diggers, skid-steer loading shovels, counterbalance forklifts and pallet trucks.
  • Palletise filled tubs, sacks and boxes, and move pallets, packaging materials and finished product using FLT or pallet truck.
  • Record accurate production data, including input/output, productivity and downtime for performance monitoring.
  • Support the Shift Supervisor by completing assigned duties in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Take product samples and submit them to the QC lab, ensuring batches are completed and signed off correctly.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, near-misses or hazardous conditions immediately and participate in investigations when required.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • A reliable, safety-conscious operative with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use own initiative.
  • Flexible approach to job rotation and overtime.
  • Physically capable of performing repetitive manual handling tasks.
  • Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow safe working procedures at all times.

Shift Patterns

This role works on a 5-day, 40-hour average over a 3-week rotating cycle, covering days and nights between Sunday night and Friday day. The pattern includes:

  • Week 1 – Two 12-hour days and two 12-hour nights (starting Monday).
  • Week 2 – Three 12-hour days (starting Wednesday).
  • Week 3 – Three 12-hour nights (starting Sunday PM).
