Gi Group are looking for a Class 1 driver in the Aylesbury area. This role is for December and potentially beyond. Driver MUST be willing to work Christmas week (24th and 27th specifically). Pay £19.05 inc holiday (PAYE only no umbrellas). Hours Monday to Friday (3-4 days per week). 03:00-06:00.
Purpose of the role: Part of the role is to ensure security of the load and good welfare of the birds at all times and maintain communication with the transport office with regard to delays. (Full training will be provided). This is a bio-secure site and cleanliness rules must be obeyed at all times.
Key responsibilities:
- Transporting of eggs from farms to the hatchery, including loading and unloading
- Transporting live chicks from the hatchery to farms, including loading and unloading
- Monitor bird welfare at all times and ensure the load is secure before and during transport
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately
- Report any issues or delays at the transport office at all times
- Always wear the provided protective equipment and follow Health and Safety at all times
- Ensuring bio-security at all times, cleaning wheels of the vehicles in and out of sites and the whole vehicle at the end of shift
Requirements:
- In date, UK, class 1 licence with a minimum of 2 year's experience
- A valid CPC and Tacho Card
- No more than 6 points on your licence (no TT/TS/DD/DR/CU/MI/MS points)
- Strong understanding of driver regulations
- Flexibility to meet business demands and a positive attitude
- Ability to do heavy and manual work
