Project Accountant role in a growing Cirencester business, helping in the delivery and implementation of new ERP systems as well as other smaller projects for the Finance function. A hands-on role, requiring someone to drive the implementation project, engage with a range of internal stakeholders and have the requisite accounting experience to be able to backfill accountants who themselves will be involved in the ERP implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support end-to-end ERP implementation projects for finance function ensuring data accuracy, reporting, and maintaining system integrity.
  • Understanding business requirements and transferring that knowledge into new ERP systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial strategies with ERP capabilities.
  • Mentor and train the finance team to maximise ERP system efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the transformation journey.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure systems meet compliance, financial reporting, audit and operational needs.
  • Writing test scripts for the new ERP system.
  • Providing cover for wider finance team and ensuring accurate and consistent financial reporting.
  • Evaluate the current financial systems, reporting and processes to identify areas for improvement until the new ERP systems are implemented.
  • Develop MIS reporting to help drive business growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and commercial acumen.
  • Naturally curious and happy working in a detailed, methodical manner.
  • Enjoy challenges and finding solutions.
  • Proven experience in implementation of Group financial and management reporting systems.
