This Movement Specialist role is a vital part of our multidisciplinary Therapeutic Team, focused on empowering clients to achieve their best health, vitality, and long-term well-being. To serve as the physical resilience lead within GHS Clinics’ multidisciplinary team, the Movement Specialist will bridge the gap between clinical health and physical performance, designing Movement programs. This role focuses on helping clients achieve functional longevity ensuring they maintain the strength, stability, and cardiovascular health required to stay active and independent throughout their "Second Prime®".
The role will stretch across a wide variety of client support offerings GHS clinics provide, including our patented Second Prime longevity program, weight management, rehabilitation programmes and preventative assessments. You will have access to our partner Gym in the locality when performing PT sessions, and you should also be willing to provide training sessions outdoors subject to weather and client preferences.
Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed assessments focusing on mobility, stability, and power.
- Create structured plans that prioritise the prevention of muscle loss and Osteopenia (bone loss), while improving metabolic health through training and exercise.
- Work closely with GHS clinics therapeutic and clinical teams to adapt training based on medical data, injury history, or nutritional status.
- Act as a "Movement Educator" teaching clients the mechanics of their own bodies to foster long-term independence and confidence.
- Actively listen and display genuine curiosity and empathy, holding the client’s unique goals at the centre of the support.
- Impart knowledge in an accessible, and non-judgmental manner, overcoming barriers to change with a compassionate approach.
- Attend and actively contribute to team meetings and clinical supervision sessions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in line with GHS standards and professional code of ethics.
- Manage a self-directed programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), maintaining a personal portfolio.
- Actively participate in the growth of the Movement service at GHS, contributing to service improvements and wellness initiatives.
- Essential: Level 4 Specialist Qualification (e.g., Exercise Referral, Strength & Conditioning, or Lower Back Pain Management).
- Desirable: BSc in Sport Science, Biomechanics, or Physical Therapy.
- Essential: Minimum 3 years of experience in a coaching or personal training capacity.
- Essential: Experience working with clients aged 45+ or those with age-related physical concerns.
- Desirable: Experience in a clinical or "boutique" private health environment.
- Essential: Deep understanding of hypertrophy (building muscle) and stability training for older adults.
- Essential: Ability to explain the link between physical activity and chronic disease prevention (Diabetes, Heart Health).
