PCU Travel Nurse Details
- Location: Lancaster, SC 29720
- Unit: Neurology / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 5W
- Position Type: Travel RN / Locum Tenens
- Assignment Dates: September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); options for 3×12 or 4×12 per week
- Weekly Hours: 36-48 hours
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,470 – $1,570
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Parking: Free on-site parking
Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or Compact nursing license (must be current before start date)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
- Prior Travel RN experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
- Telemetry competency required
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
- Ability to float within scope to similar units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neuro, cardiac, respiratory, and COVID-related diagnoses in the PCU
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data; administer medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, and Nitro drips
- Operate and manage specialized equipment such as Bipap
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response)
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Float to similar units as needed to support hospital operations
- Maintain schedule flexibility, including weekend coverage
- Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
