We are looking for a talented Full-Stack Developer to join our pre-seed startup as our first in-house technical hire. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of an existing product in the live music industry and shape its technical future as we scale.

About Ghostwriter

Ghostwriter is built on senior leadership experience from some of the UK’s leading entertainment companies, combined with a fiercely independent approach. Our business spans Venue Partnerships, Consultancy, and Pink Dot (our promotions arm). We act as a head office function for partner venues, ensuring they are well programmed, commercially successful, well marketed, and operationally robust. Across venues, festivals, and green-field events, our focus is always the same: safe, professionally delivered, and memorable experiences for artists, promoters, partners, and music fans.

We are building a B2B SaaS platform designed specifically for the live music industry. As a pre-seed startup, we are at an exciting stage where every decision matters and every team member has a significant impact on our direction and success. We have successfully completed Phase 1 of development with a contracting team and have a working product. Now we are ready to bring technical expertise in-house to maintain, enhance, and scale the platform as we grow. This is your opportunity to join at a pivotal moment in our journey.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Getting up to speed with the existing Phase 1 codebase and platform architecture
  • Taking ownership of business-as-usual tasks including bug fixes, maintenance, and minor enhancements
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve code quality, performance, and developer experience
  • Collaborating with our UK-based contracting team to build out new features and functionality
  • Gradually taking over technical ownership as we transition development in-house
  • Contributing to technical decisions and architecture discussions
  • Implementing comprehensive testing frameworks and improving code quality
  • Setting up and maintaining build pipelines and deployment processes
  • Working closely with the founding team to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Preparing for future growth - laying the groundwork for bringing development fully in-house

  • Working knowledge of testing frameworks (unit, integration, E2E)
  • Proven ability to quickly understand and work with existing codebases
  • Experience collaborating with other developers and external teams
  • Self-starter who takes initiative without needing constant direction
  • Proactive mindset - able to identify and flag opportunities for improvement in code, processes, and product
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions
  • Adaptable mindset suited to startup life - able to pivot quickly when requirements change
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A passion for live music

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes
