The role of the Desk Adjuster is to be responsible for all aspects of Casualty claim (EL, PL, Contractor All Risk, Drivers Negligence, and Third Party Recoveries) investigation, consideration of policy coverage, reviewing quantum evidence, and negotiating settlement. This will be a home-based position and will enable you to deal with a diverse portfolio of Fast track and Multi-track liability claims; Employers’, Public & Products, TPPD, CAR, and Recovery claims on a cradle to grave and investigate and report only basis encompassing all the core values of loss adjusting.
What will you be responsible for:
- To maintain and manage a diverse case load, demonstrating effective and proactive claims handling in the UK and ROI jurisdictions.
- Undertake thorough desk investigations in a timely manner.
- You will be expected to handle claims from cradle to grave and investigate and report only.
- Liaising with Insurers, Policyholders, Witnesses and other experts where appropriate and manage their expectations.
- Determine the correct liability outcome, control indemnity spend and negotiate the resolution of claims within our Principals authority.
- Understand, interpret and apply Policy cover and its wording to a variety of specialist classes as appropriate.
- Demonstrate and be able to adhere to agreed SLA’s.
- Prepare detailed and concise reports, which clearly explain your investigation, legal liability and quantum recommendations.
- Provide technical advice, support and guidance to all stakeholders, and propose bespoke solutions in a professional manner.
- Keeping abreast of case law and legal developments.
- Assist developing new business/building upon existing relationships with all stakeholders.
- Possess a can-do attitude and collaborate effectively with colleagues and all stakeholders.
- Provide detailed reports within the agreed SLA’s, maintaining high standards of communication at all times, both internally and externally.
What we need from you:
- Cert CII and / or Cert CILA
- Minimum 2 Year Claims adjusting experience in Casualty/Liability insurance claims area
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills in order to bring a claim to a conclusion
- Effective communicator, verbally and in written communication
- Effective Time Management
- IT literate, Business conscious.
