Excellent opportunity for an experienced Surveyor to join a high-quality Claims Management business, to develop and grow the Surveying Services division.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our Surveying Services Division. As a Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating property damage claims. You will be responsible for conducting surveys, inspections, and investigations to determine the extent of damage, estimate repair costs, and provide accurate reports for insurance claims. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in ensuring fair and accurate claim settlements.
What will you be responsible for:
- Conduct on-site surveys and inspections of properties to assess damages and collate data for insurance claims.
- Analyze data, evaluate extent of damage, prepare budget replacement costs.
- Prepare schedule of works, tendering documents, tender analysis and undertake all pre and post contract administration duties.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports outlining the findings of property inspections, including damage assessment, repair recommendations, and budget costs.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters, claims handlers, and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise and support throughout the claims process.
- Review insurance policies and coverage to ensure claims are handled in accordance with the terms and conditions.
- Investigate the cause and circumstances of property damage, including conducting interviews with property owners, witnesses, and relevant parties.
- Act as Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015.
- Act as Party Wall Surveyor under the Party Wall Act 1996.
- Maintain accurate records of surveys, inspections, and investigation findings.
- Provide expert testimony and support in legal proceedings, if required.
- Assist in negotiating claim settlements, including reviewing and verifying invoices and Third Party SOW. Undertake schedules of reduction.
- Provide guidance and support to policyholders, explaining the claims process, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as claims handlers, underwriters, and legal counsel, to ensure efficient and effective claims management.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive claim information.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor\’s Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or working towards/experience.
- Proven experience working as a Surveyor, preferably within the claims management/loss adjusting or insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of property surveying techniques, building materials, and construction practices.
- Experienced in surveying both domestic and commercial properties.
- Experienced in interpreting insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Proactive – ensuring KPI’s and SLAs are met.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Professional certifications, such as MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent, are desirable. We will consider APC students.
- Valid driver\’s license and willingness to travel to various claim sites.
